Jamise Harper, a bona fide bibliophile and oenophile, has always had a deep love for books and wine, and the joy of experiencing both. In 2015, she brought that passion to Instagram with the launch of Spines & Vines®, a space she describe as a love affair with books and wine.
What began as a personal expression of that love has evolved into a curated space where literature, culture, and conversation come together. A place to discover, connect, and experience stories more deeply.

JAMISE HARPER
Jamise Harper is an avid reader, wine enthusiast, literary influencer, and passionate advocate for amplifying marginalized voices. Her love for diverse stories led her to create the #diversespines hashtag and the Diverse Spines® book community, a vibrant space celebrating literature by Black women and women of color.
She is the co-author of Bibliophile: Diverse Spines (Chronicle Books, 2021) with Jane Mount, and the founder of Spines & Vines®, a platform that brings together books, wine, and conversation to elevate the reading experience.
As the host of Literary Wine Down, an Instagram Live series blending books and wine, Jamise has led engaging conversations with acclaimed authors including S.A. Cosby, Eddie S. Glaude Jr., Tayari Jones, Kennedy Ryan, Jasmine Guillory, Kiese Laymon, Robert Jones Jr., Elizabeth Acevedo, Sadeqa Johnson, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, and more.
A sought-after moderator and literary voice, she has contributed to marquee events such as the Essence Festival (Essence Authors), National Book Foundation programs, and the Well-Read Black Girl Festival.
Jamise is a proud graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and a dedicated member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated. She resides in the Washington, D.C. metro area.
